Yep, they sound good. How do they do it? Talent of course. But, it also takes great sounding equipment too! Here’s a rig rundown.
Tommy Mack’s Guitar Rig
(nut job… toy freak… has GAS – Gear Acquisition Syndrome).
Live, Tommy plays four main guitars. Three Fender Strat’s, Gibson Les Paul and a Ibanez JS1000. All have been modified to Tommy’s specs. Tommy uses DiMarzio and Lollar Pickups. Each Strat is also modified with Resonari Blocks and titanium saddles. Tommy uses D’addario hybrid strings.
Tommy’s main amp is a Marshall JCM 2000 and a back up Bogner Shiva 20th Anniversary running through a Bogner 1-12 (Celestion Vintage 30) or his oversized 2 12 cabinet. Tommy’s has two Pedal-boards. For the Marshall he uses an J Rockett Archer, with a Crybaby 95Q wah, OCD Overdrive, Keeley Electronic 30-ms Double Tracker, TC Electronics Mini Flashback, and an MXR Talk Box. He also uses a TC Electronics G System on occasion.
